Happy New Year! I’m Gordon, and on behalf of the entire team at Lundie Media, I want to welcome you to 2026.
The start of a new year is traditionally a time for reflection, but in the fast-paced world of design and marketing, it’s more importantly a time for recalibration. While few people have actual print calendars these days, many business owners will have been sitting down to write their New Year’s resolutions (though they should have been doing this weeks, if not months ago). Usually, these look like “increase revenue by 20%” or “launch a new product line.”
At Lundie Media, our resolution is simple – Bridge the gap between where your business is and where your sales need to be.
In this first post of our new weekly series, I want to pull back the curtain on what it means to partner with a design agency in 2026. If you think hiring us is just about getting a fresh brochure or SEO, I’m here to challenge that perspective. We aren’t just “the creative types”, we are your marketing and sales consultants.
Every January, agencies like ours get a flood of requests for “a quick logo refresh” or “some updates to some print material.” While we love producing beautiful print assets, a resolution built solely on aesthetics is a hollow one.
Design without strategy is just art. Art is meant to be admired; design is meant to work. In 2026, the market is noisier than ever. Consumers are bombarded with thousands of digital impressions every hour. If your resolution is simply “to look better,” you’re missing the point. Your resolution should be “to communicate more effectively.”

Why does this matter for a design agency? Because in 2026, your visual identity cannot exist in a vacuum. Your print media must talk to your digital media. Social media isn’t just “posting photos”; they are ensuring that the high-level design strategy we build for your brand translates into engagement, community, and ultimately leads.

Video is no longer a luxury; it is the primary language of the internet. We cannot talk about 2026 without talking about Artificial Intelligence. By now, AI is integrated into almost every piece of software we use. It’s a brilliant tool that helps us iterate faster, brainstorm wider, and automate the mundane tasks but there is a dangerous trend emerging that I like to call the “Sole Reliance” Trap.
Many businesses are now using AI to generate their entire brand identity, their copy, and even their customer interactions. While this is cost-effective and might seem like it does the job in the short term, it creates a “sea of sameness.” AI, by its very nature, predicts the most likely next step based on existing data. It is the definition of “average” (no offense AI if you are listening).
In 2026, your greatest competitive advantage is your humanity.
A company needs to be personal. It needs to be unique. It needs to have those “human” imperfections and insights that an algorithm can’t replicate. At Lundie Media, we use AI to sharpen our axes, but the hand swinging the axe is always human. We ensure your brand doesn’t sound like a robot wrote it or look like a generic template. We find the “soul” of your business. The reason you started it in the first place and we make sure that shines through.
I have been doing this gig for over 16 years now and I have genuinely lost count of how often I have heard things like “I’ll focus on that once we’ve grown a bit more.” This is like a captain saying, “I’ll buy a compass once the ship is in the middle of the ocean.”
Always remember that design and marketing is a sales tool.

As we move through this year, our goal is to help our current clients continue their upward trajectory. We’ve seen businesses go from small local outfits to regional powerhouses, and nothing gives us more pride than knowing our design strategy played a part in that.
We are looking for partners, not just clients. We want to work with businesses that are ready to Stop guessing and start using data-driven design. Integrate their print and digital efforts for a seamless customer journey and invest in high-quality video and social content that actually converts.
Throughout 2026, this blog will serve as a resource for you. My team and I will be sharing insights on everything from the psychology of colour in print to the latest trends in video engagement. We want to pull back the curtain on the “why” behind what we do.
